The market town of Hertford in the county of Hertfordshire has a recorded history that dates back to Saxon times, when Theodor of Tarsus presided over the Church Synod of 673. From a fortified burgh at the time of the Norman Invasion, Hertford has grown to become a thriving and successful town that has attracted many visitors through the years; including royalty.
