Wrexham

Wrexham is the largest town in North Wales. It is located between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, neighbouring the English county of Cheshire. The town is situated on a flat plateau between the lower Dee Valley and eastern mountain ranges of Wales. This allowed the original settlement space to grow and so it developed as a market town and a cross roads between England and Wales. As Wrexham is a county town and administrative centre, it is also a major centre of commercial, retail and educational infrastructure for Northern Wales, as well as serving some of the local towns and villages of Cheshire.

Attractions in and around Wrexham include the Bangor-on-Dee racecourse; the beautiful landscapes and countless walking routes of the Clywedog Valley (including the Minera Leadmines, Nant Mill and Bersham Ironworks); Erddig Hall — a National Trust property and park; Pontcysyllte Aqueduct; the Techniquest Glyndŵr science discovery centre; and the Wrexham County Museum.
