Worth

Worth is a small and pleasant village in the county of Kent, in south-east England. It is situated in a rural area near to the historic town of Sandwich, and offers good prospects as a holiday destination for the visitor seeking a peaceful and historic location with close proximity to the towns and attractions of interest. Worth has two traditional public houses, a church, and a range of basic amenities, and is notable as the birthplace of C.S. Forester's fictional naval hero, Horatio Hornblower. The Blue Pidgeon Inn, in the village, is believed to have once been known as Blue Pidgeons Farm, which was a key location in the central to the smuggling of the 18th century, when the port of Sandwich was in its heyday.

Popular attractions in the area include the White Mill Rural Heritage Centre, the Ramsgate Maritime Museum, the Powell-Cotton Museum, and Howletts The Aspinall Wild Animal Park.
