Woodhall Spa

Woodhall Spa is a village in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, neighbouring Horncastle and Lincoln. It was founded in the 19th century upon the discovery of iodine-rich waters in the area due to unsuccessful attempts by founder John Parkinson to sink a coal mine. The village then grew in affluence as a Victorian Spa town. It is unusual for its central woodland, the Woodland Trust owned Pinewood, which features The Kinema in the middle of the wood. It was one of the first cinemas in Britain and is now one of the last remaining cinemas in the country to use back projection and an original Compton Captain Organ.

The Viking Way footpath and the Water Rail Way portion of the National Cycle Network Route 1 both pass through the centre of the village, and Woodhall Spa provides a good selection of quality holiday accommodation for travellers to the area, along with good shopping prospects and plenty to see and do. Attractions in the area include Tattershall Castle, the Usher Gallery, Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral, to name only a handful.
