Wiswell

Wiswell is a small village in picturesque Ribble Valley, within the county of Lancashire, England, close to Whalley and Clitheroe, as well as the Wiswell Moor. Often mispronounced "wizel",  'Wize-Well’, a name that is said to derive from Old Molly’s Well, which is a local landmark now known as "Wise Woman’s Well". Another local landmark of interest is the Vicarage House, which is is of medieval origin. Also, one of the finest sections of Roman road visible in Lancashire can be found between Lamb Roe and Wiswell. The village is small with only one pub, the "Freemasons Arms", but does provide a quaint and convenient vantage point from which to explore the local area.
