Winchester is in the county of Hampshire is at the edge of the South Downs and is probably best known for its fabulous 11th century cathedral. Winchester Cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in England and has the longest nave and overall length of any Gothic cathedral in Europe. Used as the film set for the film ‘The Da Vinci Code’ in 2005, Winchester Cathedral’s north transept portrayed the Vatican. Winchester is rich with architectural and historic sites of interest.
