Whatstandwell

Whatstandwell is a pretty village situated on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England, near Matlock and Belper. The Cromford Canal passes through it as part of the Derwent Valley Mills Heritage Site. The village is unusual for having its main road, its canal railway and river run parallel to each other along the scenic narrow valley.

Local attractions include the National Tramway Museum, and the Shining Cliff Woods, which is a National Trustproperty on the banks of the Derwent. In addition, Whatstandwell is in central location within the Peak District National Park, and provides easy access to a large number of popular attractions across the county.
