Whalley

Whalley is a large village in the scenic Ribble Valley in Lancashire, England, on the banks of the River Calder. The village is conveniently situated to take advantage of all that Lancashire has to offer. This pretty rural settlement, which is overlooked by the Whalley Nab (an attractive wooded hillscape), is close to a number of popular walking routes through the valleys and rural landscapes of the area, as well as to a network of popular canals and waterways, including the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

The attractions of the local area include, but are not limited to, the ruins of Whalley Abbey, the Whalley Viaduct, the Calder Waterfalls and Islands, and Pendle Hill, famous as the site of the Pendle Witch Trials. With much more to see and do, Whalley is an excellent place to visit and the perfect vantage point from which to explore the wider Lancaster area.
