Westhill

The town of Westhill is in Aberdeenshire, Scotland; a county rich with prehistoric and historic heritage and home to numerous Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeological sites, including Longman Hill, Kempstone Hill, Catto Long Barrow and Cairn Lee. Aberdeenshire borders Angus and Perth and Kinross to the south and the Highland council area and Moray to the west. Westhill was a planned town that saw construction of the first houses in 1968. Westhill has grown and developed as a result of the North East's oil and gas economy.

Westhill is a well developed town offering ample amenities, shops, eateries and pubs as well as a range of outdoor attractions and facilities, including the Westhill Golf Course. The town is built in an area that was the Western Kinmundy and Blackhills Farming areas and small farm houses and a barn from that period remain as evidence and echoes of the past. As Westhill is just 7.5 miles west of the city of Aberdeen, it is within easy reach of all the historic, cultural and visitor attractions of this popular area.
