Westcliff-on-Sea is a suburb of the well known seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea in the county of Essex. Overlooking the Thames Estuary, this pretty coastal town prospered with the coming of the railways in the 1880’s that finally connected Westcliffe-on-Sea with London. The scenery here is varied; from tranquil open spaces and sandy beaches to dramatic cliffs. Nearby where Westcliff meets the Southend town centre is a conservation area that includes the lovely Prittlewell Square gardens that is popular with visitors and residents alike.
