Located in the county of Wiltshire, the town of Westbury is instantly recognised by the famous ‘White Horse’ hill-carving nearby, at the western extremity of Salisbury Plain. The town itself is an ancient one that is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. There is also evidence that the area was inhabited in the Iron and Bronze Ages, and in more recent times even the Romans settled here.
Well known locally for its woollen industry and glove making, Westbury today offers so much more; from scenic walks, visitor attractions and lovely local crafts, to shopping, dining and cultural experiences. The local spring water too is a great reason to visit.
Westbury is centred around the paved High Street and the Market Place, where you will find many local industries selling their wares like window glass, and local pottery.
