West Sussex

The county of West Sussex is in the south of England and along with East Sussex, is home to the South Downs National Park that reaches to the white cliffs of the English Channel. West Sussex has diverse natural scenery and fascinating geology as well as a wealth of history in its towns and villages including the large coastal settlement of Worthing, the traditional seaside resort of Bognor Regis, the market town of Horsham and the county town of Chichester with its incredible cathedral; founded in 1075, Chichester Cathedral has both the Norman and the Gothic styles of architecture and has been called "the most typical English Cathedral".

West Sussex offers visitors plenty to see, do and enjoy with visitor attractions, places of interest and an abundance of wonderful stately homes and castles including Arundel Castle and Bramber Castle. From the countryside to the seaside, West Sussex is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and is a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, climbers and riders. There are cultural attractions too like the Pallant House Gallery  in Chichester that houses one of the most significant collections of 20th century British art outside of London and the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery with the largest collection of Georgian and Victorian costumes in South East England.
