Weeley

Weeley is a small and attractive village in East Essex, England, near Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea, which form a route on the Sunshine Coast Line, with bus routes also available. The village pond originated as a drowning pool, during the witch-hunts of the sixteenth century, where suspected witches were drowned. It is located opposite the Tendring Council offices. Weeley is often visited in passing as a result of this fascinating historical fact.

This is a charming village, with excellent transport links, and a good choice of holiday accommodation, including a nearby caravan park and a Premier Inn, along with good local shopping prospects and a small but reputable selection of pubs and restaurants. A large and popular weekly car boot sale is held on the outskirts of the village each Saturday. The village also has a McDonalds Drivethru.

Popular attractions in the area include Colchester Castle, Colchester Zoo, Waltham Abbey, Mangapps Railway Museum, Epping Forest, and Hedingham Castle, to name only a handful.
