Wartle

The village of Meikle Wartle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland is in a lovely rural location in this region that is known for its rich prehistoric and historic heritage. Aberdeenshire is home to numerous Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeological sites, including Longman Hill, Kempstone Hill, Catto Long Barrow and Cairn Lee. Wartle itself is a small village that is about seven miles to the north of Inverurie in the Don Valley that offers wonderful natural scenery and lovely walks amidst diverse flora, fauna and wildlife.

 

Wartle is surrounded by farmland and within sight of the majestic mountain of Bennachie. Although this small village offers just a few amenities, it is within reach of further developed towns and villages with additional choices for shopping, dining and leisure activities. The Wartle railway station serves the village. Visitors to the area come to enjoy the natural attractions of the region and include walkers, climbers, bird-watchers and outdoor enthusiasts.
