Warminster

The former market town of Warminster in the county of Wiltshire, is the perfect blend of countryside, Saxon history and friendly, welcoming destination for the visitor. There are many scenic and historic attractions in the vicinity as well as shopping and good entertainment. Warminster lies to the south west of Salisbury Plain, in an area renowned for its abundant flora and fauna in the Wylye Valley.

 

Warminster has an olde worlde charm about it that is treasured by the local community; the protection of many local buildings and landmarks is of huge importance. The architecture of the town is based on local rubble stone, is a reflection of the days when Warminster was a busy coaching centre. Buildings in this style that survive today are the Anchor and Bath Arms Inns and the Old Bell hotel.
