Uddingston

Uddingston is a pleasant and welcoming village in the Scottish council area of South Lanarkshire. It is conveniently located around seven miles to the south-east of Glasgow, on the north side of the scenic River Clyde and is best known for its Tunnock's factory, a well-known producer of caramel wafers and teacakes, and which is the primary employer of of the village and local area, in place of the former mining activity. It has good local amenities, including its own police station, several traditional village shops, a choice of pubs, and a railway station, which provides regular access to Glasgow and the rest of Scotland.
