Treforest

Perhaps best known as the birthplace of singer Tom Jones, the village of Treforest, is situated in the scenic Rhondda Cynon Taf of Wales, on the River Taff. The village adjoins Ynysangharad Park, which is an Edwardian war memorial park and winner of the Green Flag and Green Dragon awards, set picturesquely amidst the mountainous Welsh landscape of the Rhondda Cynon Taff.

The John Hughes' World of Groggs is a popular attraction of the town, located on the Broadway in Treforest, where limited edition caricatures of famous people have been made since 1965. The Pit Pony Sanctuary and the Nantgarw China Works Museum are also very popular attractions in the local area.

Treforest houses a large student population during term-time and so offers a good selection of restaurants, bars, pubs, shops accommodation, as well as a good choice of live entertainment.
