Tayport

Tayport is a town located in the Scottish council area of Fife. It lies in the north east tip of the region, overlooking the River Tay towards Broughty Ferry and Broughty Castle. It also neighbours the Tentsmuir Nature Reserve, which is an area of forested dunes of about 9 kilometres square, stretching towards the River Eden. It is planted mainly with Scots and Corsican pine and makes use of open spaces, ponds, and sand dunes and wildlife habitat that can be admired throuh a series of forest walks that begin at the Kinshaldy car park and picnic site. The forest also includes a beach area, the Tentsmuir Sands, which was included in the Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide 2003.
