The coastal city of Swansea in the Welsh county of Glamorgan, is the second-largest city in Wales and sits on the five-mile sweep of Swansea Bay. At its peak of activity and prosperity in the 19th century, Swansea was at the heart of the world’s copper industry and was sometimes referred to as 'Copperopolis'.
