Stonegate

Stonegate is an ancient street in the city of York, which follows the course of a Roman road through the city. The street features "Haunted", a building of medieval origin, which was once a very reputable publishing house, which produced literary classics such as "Tristram Shandy" and “Elergy written in a country churchyard”. Customers of the bookseller included Queen Victoria.

There are a large number of independent shops on the street, along with several traditional pubs, restaurants and tearooms. York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the other attractions within the immediate area, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, being among the many others within easy reach.
