Stanwix

Stanwix is a suburb of Carlisle, in the north of the famous tourist region of Cumbria, in North West England. It is divided from the county town by the River Eden. Hadrians Wall runs through the suburb, and the grounds of the church are built on the site of the Roman Fort of Petriana.

This is a well-linked location with a fantastic choice of holiday accommodation from which a visitor can take advantage of excellent links and close proximity to the best of this infinitely popular county. The Lake District National Park is just a stone's throw away, while the Solway Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is even closer. Plus, being within Hadrian's wall country, near to the Scottish Border, and with the nightlife and entertainment venues of Carlisle on its doorstep, Stanwix can hardly fail to be an ideal base from which to enjoy that perfect break.
