Spalding is a market town on the River Welland in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, in England. The area has a strong link with the Netherlands and is the centre of the British bulb growing industry, known for the bands of tulips that colour the lands around the town in season. An annual Tulip Parade on the first Saturday in May, which is a popular tourist attraction, that includes a parade.
The River Welland flows through the centre of Spalding from Crowland, before passing the village and port of Fosdyke on its way to the Wash. The "Spalding Water Taxi" service runs from Easter to late October, providing a scenic 30 minute route between Spalding's High Street and Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens.
