South Normanton

South Normanton is a former mining village near Alfreton, in Derbyshire. This is a quiet and traditional village offering a small but comfortable choice of holiday accommodation, along with a number of self-catering cottages. It is situated in an ideal location near the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, and by the edge of the Peak District National Park.

It is home to the East Midlands Designer Outlet, which attracts a lot of visitors from within the region. However, its most notable attraction is the medieval Carnfield Hall, with its extensive grounds that contain a 90 acre ancient woodland. The current owners of the Hall offer guided tours by appointment, showcasing their substantial collection of antique furniture, porcelain, glass, and artwork.
