Skipton-on-Swale

Skipton-on-Swale is a small village in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England, neighbouring Thirsk. The town is named for the River Swale, which runs through the village, over which an attractive bridge designed by John Carr, was built in 1781, further complementing the appeal of one of the many popular walks of the area.

The North Yorkshire region as a whole is a very attractive and historical landscape of rivers, moors and ancient rural villages, which is an extremely pleasant visiting place for walkers and fishing enthusiasts, as well for that traditional English family holiday filled with fun, intrigue and adventure. York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the attractions in the region, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, among the many others within easy reach.
