Satterthwaite

Satterthwaite is a pretty and ideally situated village situated in the scenic Grizedale valley, right in the middle of the famous Lake District National Park, in North West England. It is directly between the lakes of Coniston Water and Windermere, with Esthwaite Water to the north. This location makes it a very popular base from which to explore the best of the striking scenery, attractive villages and countless interesting sites and tourist attractions. Much of the around the village is now owned by the National Trust. It neighbours Hawkshead, home to the 15th century grammar school that educated Romantic poet William Wordsworth. Beatrix Potter also has important links to the local area.
