Sandringham

Sandringham is a village in the north of the English county of Norfolk, neighbouring the village of Dersingham, and the town of King's Lynn. It is part of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is best known as the location of Sandringham House, a holiday home of HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The Royal Stud, a stud farm and breeder of royal horses, is next to it. The house is a very popular tourist attraction, drawing many thousands of visitors each year, for that rare insight into the homes and lifestyle of the monarchy. The house was built by King Edward VII amid 8,000 acres of grounds, which are now open to the public, along with a special exhibition, which is on display in the Ballroom and a museum that is housed in the old coach house and stable block.
