The town of Saltash in the scenic county of Cornwall looks out over the River Tamar in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visitors to Saltash can discover the Grade II mediaeval, Tudor house of Cotehele that was built around 1300 and is one of the most exceptional examples of an authentic Tudor house in the country. The Edgcumbe family lived here for centuries although the house and estate are now under the care of the National Trust. The beautiful grounds reach to the quay on the River Tamar and the fascinating National Maritime Museum.
