Saint Ives

In the popular county of Cornwall is St. Ives, a lovely seaside town that is a major tourist destination. Lying on the coast of the Celtic Sea, St. Ives was once dependent on fishing but later went on to be developed as a seaside resort and attracted many artists who came to live here. There is a legend about the arrival of the Irish Saint Ia of Cornwall in the 5th century, that led to the naming of St. Ives; the parish church here still bears the name of this saint.

Today’s visitors come for the golden sands of the beaches, the cobbled streets of the town and the history, legend and tradition that is evident in the architecture and the people of St. Ives. With unique galleries and craft shops, inspiring art at the Tate and the rich, magnificent coastal scenery, there is every reason to understand the popularity of this tourist destination.
