Saint Bees

St Bees is a small but welcoming village on the historic coast of Cumbria, just 40 miles away from the English-Scottish border. It is best known for the 15th century St Bees School, and the Priory of St Mary and St Bega, which was founded in 1120. It is also the starting point of the Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk across England.

This is the ideal location from which to enjoy the beautiful landscape and attractions of the famous Lake District National Park without the crowds and busyness of some of the more obvious areas; offering close proximity to, not only the national park, but the Solway Firth Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the nightlife and entertainment of Carlisle, and Hadrian's Wall beyond.
