Redditch is a modern town with plenty of historic attractions to suit all visitor tastes. Located in the county of Worcestershire, Redditch is well designed and incorporates lovely parks and woodlands as well as commercial areas that offer great shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural attractions. Set amidst the Worcestershire countryside and within easy reach of the popular Cotswolds and Shakespeare country.
While visiting, try to make time to take in the Bordesley Abbey visitor centre, featuring displays of some of the fascinating archaeological finds at this site that was first explored in 1864. The Forge Mill Needle Museum is another gem for tourists to the area and highlights the earliest record of needle-making in Redditch that dates back to 1639. The Mill was built in 1730 and in use until 1958 and is the only remaining water-driven needle scouring mill in the world.
Another outstanding attraction is the Palace Theatre, a 425-seat Edwardian Theatre that remains popular and well maintained today. Throughout the year, a lively and entertaining programme offers entertainment, amusement and pleasure.
