Radnage

The village of Radnage is in the county of Buckinghamshire, nestled in the Chiltern Hills amidst beautiful scenery. The history here dates back to at least the 12th century when the village was given by the king to the Knights Templar. The Knights built St Mary’s church here around the start of the 13th century, with its central tower and design that is particular to the Knights Templar. Buried near the church is the man who reputedly killed the last bear in England with his gravestone denoted by a man hunting a bear with a bow and arrow.

Radnage is a village of unusual design, with a number of separate areas and no true ‘town centre’. The City, Town End, Green End and Bennett End are linked by country lanes and even the church stands alone in Church Lane. This charming village has ample amenities and pubs for visitors to enjoy as well as the incredible natural beauty of the area that is excellent for walking, bird watching, outdoor pursuits and the enjoyment of historic sites.
