Pwllheli

The coastal market town of Pwllheli in Gwynedd, Wales is found on the picturesque Llyn Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that attracts visitors throughout the year to enjoy the diverse scenery, flora, fauna and wildlife. The town still holds its Wednesday market as it has since it was granted its charter back in 1355. It was the nearby granite quarry as well as the shipbuilding and fishing industries that led to the development of the town and later, tourism that sustains it. Pwllheli is considered the unofficial capital of The Llyn Peninsula and is an ideal base to explore this area with its broad choice of attractions and activities.

Pwllheli is a thriving market town and its market, one of the busiest in the UK. There are ample amenities, a good choice of shops, plenty of eateries and pubs as well as two Blue Flag beaches to enjoy. South Beach is mainly shingle and reaches from Gimblet Rock towards Llanbedrog and the mainly sandy Glan-y-mor beach is located just behind the impressive marina, near the harbour mouth. Apart from the natural beauty of the rolling hills and walks offering breathtaking views, Pwllheli is a great place to enjoy outdoor activities like golf, fishing, boating and riding.
