Pentraeth

The village lies near Traeth Coch bay with the river Afon Nodwydd running through it and was the scene of a battle in 1170 where Hywel ab Owain Gwynedd landed in an attempt to claim a share of the kingdom of Gwynedd following the death of his father Owain Gwynedd. He suffered defeat and was killed here by the forces of his half-brothers Dafydd ab Owain Gwynedd and Rhodri.

For those looking to enjoy outdoor activities, fishing, boating, walking, golfing, surfing and riding can all be enjoyed on Anglesey and Pentraeth is a wonderful base from which to explore this popular destination.
