Padstow

The fishing port and town of Padstow in the scenic county of Cornwall lies on the banks of the River Camel estuary and has been settled since ancient times. The reason it was settled is geographic; nestled as it is in a narrow gulley at the west of the river, with the town sheltered from winds and weather. The harbour has always been the source of income here and remains a major attraction with fishing and pleasure craft active on the sea and a quayside tempting with inns, cafes and the scent of a fresh catch.

Padstow is a tranquil place with calm waters and a gentle pace of life and yet throughout the year, there is lots to see, do and enjoy.  There are plenty of amenities and shops, eateries and pubs as well as visitor attractions and historic sites. The best way to discover the story behind the heritage of Padstow is at the small but fascinating museum.
