Oakham is the county town of the small county of Rutland, to the west of Rutland Water, one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe. Located in the pretty Vale of Catmose, the town is built on an incline and is rich in character, charm and history. Oakham is a friendly, bustling, market town that hosts a popular market every Wednesday and Saturday in the Market Place.
