Newmarket

The market town of Newmarket is located in the county of Suffolk and is widely considered as the birthplace and heart of thoroughbred horse racing. With the largest racehorse training centre in Britain and playing host to nine of the UK's 32 Group 1 flat races at its two racetracks, Newmarket is a racing enthusiast’s dream destination. The Newmarket Racecourse and The July Course have websites listing racing events throughout the season.

The town is so entrenched with the world of horse racing that it has special horse routes that the horses use to reach the gallops safely from their training establishments. In Newmarket there are more than 2,500 race horses in residence!

There are two very different types of Newmarket Sausage because two different family butchers claim the name.
