Newburgh

Newburgh is a royal burgh Fife, in Scotland. It is situated on the Firth of Tay, near Ladybank Junction.

It is notable for its summertime Laing Museum, which is located in a Georgian town house, with a central tower and spire; for Macduff's Cross, which is located about a mile outside of Newburgh; for the ruins of the medieval Denmylne Castle; and for Lindores Abbey, which is situated near the Tay, just outside of the town.

The town is near to Lochmill Loch, which is a popular spot for fishing. The neighbouring forest, at Blackearnside, is the location where William Wallace defeated Aymer de Valence, in 1298.
