Moor Row

Moor Row is a traditional English village situated in the famous tourist county of Cumbria, in North West England. It neighbours the seaside town of Whitehaven, as well as Egremont and Cleator Moor. It is a residential community situated on Cumbria's green and tranquil coastal plain, with views of the rolling lands of the Lake District to the east. The village developed in the 18th century with the discovery of rich iron deposits in the area. At this point Moor Row was literally a simple row of houses that serviced as a base for the Cornish tin miners who moved to Cumbria (then Cumberland) for the work. Today, Moor Row is a little bigger but other than that is much the same as it was then, offering a pleasant and peaceful base from which to enjoy the best of this busy tourist region.
