Milford-on-Sea

The large village of Milford-on-Sea in the county of Hampshire is in a picturesque location with views out to The Needles of the Isle of Wight. Milford on Sea was originally a small Saxon settlement that went on to prosper and develop through agriculture and the seasonal production of salt as well as being a place where smugglers plied their trade. Although the railways did not come to Milford, the opportunity for car ownership after the Second World War, brought increased visitors and population growth that led to the expansion of the village and its resort status.

 

Milford-on-Sea has great beaches, ample amenities, a good variety of shops, choice of restaurants and pubs as well as lovely walks and attractions throughout the area. For outdoor enthusiasts there is plenty to enjoy; with clifftop strolls, woodland walks, country rambles, bird watching, nature reserves, sailing, fishing and kite surfing all amidst breathtaking scenery and diverse wildlife, flora and fauna.
