Meopham

Meopham, or Meopham Green, is a large village in the county of Kent, in south-east England, neighbouring Gravesend. It has been described as having one of the longest village streets in Kent, at 7 miles long. It is 8th century in origin, dating from the reign of the Anglo-Saxon King Offa, the name being from the Anglo-Saxon Meapaham, meaning Meapa's village. It is part of a conservation area, and the name reflects its ownership of the largest remaining village green in the parish of Meopham's area under conservation.

Popular attractions include Cobham Hall, Chatham Dockyard Historical Society, Lullingstone Castle and the World Garden, and Great Comp Garden.
