Lower Darwen

Lower Darwen is a village in the town of Darwen, in the county of Lancashire in England. It is situated close to Blackburn in the pretty valley of the River Darwen, which is popular with walkers, who in particular like to follow the course of the Earnsdale Brook. Like many of the settlements of Lancashire, Lower Darwen was once a predominantly agricultural village, which became a textile producer during the Industrial Revolution.

Although quite small, Lower Darwen has a good choice of amenities, including a Premier Inn and a choice of modern and traditional pubs and restaurants, helping to make Lower Darwen an excellent point from which to explore the wider Lancashire area, including attractions such as Blackpool Pleasure Beach and a number of historical houses.
