Loughborough is a town in the central English county of Leicestershire. The town is no stranger to tourism, as the destination of the first package tour, in 1841, which was organised by Thomas Cook for a temperance group. It is a varied and vibrant town that offers fantastic shopping prospects and a range of activities to suit all tastes, along with the 850 acre, Bradgate Park, which was created 700 years ago as a hunting park, where red and fallow deer now roam freely, and visitors and locals of the area alike spend pleasant summer days out in its grounds. Landmarks of the town include the world's largest bell foundry, which made Great Paul for St. Paul's Catherdral.
There are four museums in Loughborough, which has a rich heritage and presents a broad range of architectural styles throughout the town, from Victorian and Art Deco buildings, to the 13th century Old Rectory, located near the parish church and Church Gate conservation area.
Attractions in the area include the Great Central Steam Railway heritage line, Snibston (colliery museum), Charnwood Museum, Donington le Heath Manor House, the National Space Centre, and Calke Abbey.
