Lossiemouth is a coastal town by the River Lossie, in Moray, Scotland. It was originally a port to the former cathedral city of Elgin, but it became an important settlement in its own right as a fishing town. This is an historic and varied town that was built up from four distinct parts and includes some interesting preserved heritage buildings including original fisher cottages. Nearby RAF Lossiemouth now forms a significant part of the town's character, having been established in 1939 and housing three operational Tornado GR4 squadrons, the Tornado GR4 Operational Conversion Unit, and a flight of Westland Sea King search and rescue helicopters.
