Lochgelly is a town of around 7,000 people in the Scottish council area of Fife, located in a scenic landscape between the Lochs Ore and Gelly. It neighbours the town of Cowdenbeath, and the village of Lumphinnans, which separates the two. Lochgelly was primarily a mining town until the 1960s, when the industry declined. The town has since been under a process of regeneration and redevelopment as a tourist destination that provides convenient proximity to two of the country's best-loved lochs, a good range of amenities, and a choice of holiday accommodation to suit a range of tastes and budgets.
