Lochans

Lochans is small and attractive village in the council area of Dumfries and Galloway, in south-west Scotland. It boasts a scenic location by the Piltanton Burn stream, in the Rhins of Galloway peninsula, only two miles to the south of Stranrae, which makes it a very popular commuter base and tourist destination. This is a fairly quiet and rural location, that is also within close proximity to the coast, in particular to the Solway Firth Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and to the Galloway Forest Park. The village is very traditional with basic but sufficient amenities, a choice of quality holiday accommodation, and several well-regarded public houses.
