Llantwit Major is a small coastal town in the Vale of Glamorgan, in Wales. It is located on the Bristol Channel coast, with
excellent transport links and waterways, by which a visitor might explore the famous Vale of Glamorgan. The area is very popular for walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and for those seeking traditional British holidays with a distinctive Welsh character. The town features the earthworks of a Roman villa at Caermead, a 13th century parish church dedicated to Saint Illtud, an impressive 15th century town hall and a 15th century mint that now serves as a very attractive public house, named the Old Swan Inn, which visitors will find in the town centre. Other popular landmarks of the area include the neolithic long cairn, or chambered tomb, Parc Cwm, on the Gower Peninsula, and the Neolithic portal dolmen.
