Llangadog

The local area is a pure delight for nature lovers and those with an interest in outdoor pursuits. The scenery, smells and sounds are rich with flora, fauna and wildlife and there are plenty of adventures and activities to enjoy. The village of Llangadog is situated in the heart of the Towy Valley, with a friendly and welcoming population of approximately 1000 people. Perfectly placed at the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Llangadog is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and pasture with stunning views towards the Black Mountain. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village and its nearness to the Brecon Beacons makes it one of the most loved destinations for tourists in Wales. The village offers plenty of local services, restaurants, pubs, shops and facilities.

Nearby, the landscape is dotted with towns and villages, each with its own personality. Capel Gwynfe is a small village about three miles to the southwest of Llangadog and is home to a picturesque church dating from 1898, as well as a 19th Century church hall. Capel Gwynfe's location in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons makes it an ideal starting point for walkers and cyclists. It was voted Village of the Year for Carmarthenshire in 2004.

The prettily named village of Bethlehem is to the south of Llangadog, perched on the hillside overlooking the Towy flood plain. Bethlehem Post Office is renowned for franking cards at Christmas time and thousands of people each year send their cards to be stamped with the Bethlehem post mark. Behind the village is Garn Goch which is a bracken covered hillside which is the site of an Iron Age Hill fort.
