Linton

Linton is a attractive rural village Cambridgeshire, England, on the border with Essex, that acts mostly as a commuter village and tourist base for Cambridge. The River Granta runs through the village, which is overlooked by the Rivey Hill and its famous water tower. Linton Zoo is located in the south of the village, while Chilford Hall and its extensive vineyards are to the north.

The village features several distinctive pub-restaurants, from the traditional to the contemporary, and even one reputed to be haunted. For years The Bell Pub was said to be haunted by the ghost of an Elizabethan gentleman who seemed to be walking on his knees, but it was only recently that a renovation of the pub revealed that the original floor was actually 18 inches lower.

Popular attractions in the area include Linton Zoo, Peterborough Cathedral, Ramsey Abbey, the University of Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the Nene Valley Railway, and the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, to name only a few.
