Lindal-in-Furness

Lindal-in-Furness is a pretty little fishing village on the Furness peninsula of Cumbria, in North West England. It neighbours Barrow-in-Furness on land that was once a small grange belonging to the nearby Furness Abbey, in the Middle Ages. The area has long been known for its iron ore and grew prosperous for its iron an coal mining activities in the mid-19th century.

Attractions of the local area include Furness Abbey, Piel Castle at neighbouring Piel Island, and The Dock Museum. The village is also very convenient for a number of other attractions in the region, including the Lake District National Park, and various Roman Forts and sites of archaeological significance.
