The thriving market town of Ledbury in the county of Herefordshire is a picturesque place of timber framed buildings close to the scenic Malvern Hills. Parts of the town look and feel much as they would have in the 16th century, particularly around Church Lane, a picturesque cobbled alleyway with striking buildings; so authentic, this area has been the scene of many period films. The Heritage Centre in a 15th century building on Church Lane has a small museum of local history, providing visitors with a glimpse back in time to where Ledbury began. Even the Ledbury railway station is traditional in design, with a wooden ticket office and the town is considered to be one of the finest ‘Black and White’ towns in the Country.
Ledbury is a delight for visitors with a host of interesting shops, an excellent choice of quality restaurants, traditional pubs and an abundance of visitor attractions and historic sites; including the Market House at the centre of town, which stands on large oak pillars, a fascinating folk museum, the parish church, the Painted Room and Eastnor Castle.
